Over one hundred people have died in the attacks carried out by Israel on Sunday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said late Sunday evening.
The ministry updated its previously published number of victims to 105. In addition, it said that almost 360 people were wounded in the attacks.
The Israeli armed forces, meanwhile, said that they had struck a total of 120 targets of the extremist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israel has been targeting Lebanon with heavy strikes since Monday. On Friday, a Hezbollah commander was killed in the attacks Hassan Nasrallahin addition to which, according to Israel, other members of Hezbollah have also died in the attacks.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, more than 700 people died in the attacks last week and hundreds of thousands have fled their homes.
Early on Monday, Israel struck within the borders of the capital Beirut for the first time, reported news agencies AFP and Reuters. Earlier, Israel had focused its strikes on the southern edge of the Beirut metropolitan area, where the majority of residents are Shia Muslims and which is a solid support area for Hezbollah.
Hezbollah has said it supports the extremist organization Hamas in Gaza, where Israel has been waging war for almost a year. According to the Ministry of Health under Hamas, tens of thousands of people have died in Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
