Capcom proved, once again, that it has the holy hand. First they showed that they are masters at making remakes of Resident Evil and now they have just shown with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster that remasters also turn out very well.
Now that we saw what they are capable of, we started thinking about the company’s old games, those that would benefit from a remaster, which, on the one hand, maintains their playability and, on the other, gives them a very good cat’s hand
With this in mind we bring you this top 5 with the remasters that Capcom yes or yes I should do it in the future.
We also recommend: Nothing beats the original: Resident Evil 3 is now coming to GoG
Capcom You should release these remasters now!
5 – Onimusha 3
We know that Capcom recently released a remastered version of the first Onimusha for current consoles. Although we don’t know how it did in sales, we think you should at least give Onimusha 3 the same chance.
This game is like a combination of Resident Evil with samurai, which resulted in one of the company’s best games at the time of the PS2.
Its story gave us time travel, creative puzzles, and two protagonists, each with their own arsenal to take down Nobunaga’s demon servants.
Whether they give it a Dead Rising-style remaster with a total graphical upgrade taking advantage of the RE Engine or just optimize its graphics a little, an Onimusha remaster would make its fans very happy and perhaps have a better chance of bringing this series back to life .
4 – Lost Planet
Lost Planet is another of those gems that Capcom remains hidden despite how interesting it was and the success it had at the time. Maybe it’s time for me to return with a remaster if they don’t get excited about a new game.
The gameplay of this title was very peculiar, as it had us facing giant insects, either on foot or aboard large mechs. Not to mention we constantly had to take care of our heat source or we might freeze.
Unlike Onimusha 3, here we believe that a remaster using the RE Engine would be the best option. After all, the trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds and the title Dragon’s Dogma 2 already give us an idea of how the world of EDN 3 could work with these graphics.
It would definitely be a very beautiful thing to see and would give a whole new generation the opportunity to learn the story of Wayne against the NEVEC corporation. Make it possible Capcom!
3 – The first Mega Man
The Mega Man games are among the best-known classics of Capcom. However, even with its recent collections, the passing of the years is evident. Couldn’t they use a cat’s hand?
Of course, we don’t think that a remastering with RE Engine would do very well in these, but at least they should bring back their classic games with the visual style of Mega Man 11.
At the same time, they could take the opportunity to tweak some scenarios and bosses that were difficult, not so much because of the player’s skill, but because they were outright unfair.
We know that it would be a titanic task and perhaps take a long time. After all we are talking about 10 games. But maybe you could start with the first three and see how people accept them. Also, this way they wouldn’t leave the blue bomber so forgotten that he hasn’t had his own game for years.
2 – Viewtiful Joe
If you weren’t alive to see the Viewtiful Joe games back in the days of the Gamecube and PS2, let me tell you that you missed out on some of the most fun and creative 2D beat em ups in the world. Capcom.
Despite the love that fans have for it, so far there are no plans to return to Viewtiful Joe with a sequel. So the next best thing would be to give it a new lease on life with a return of its early titles and optimized graphics.
Although its visual style is more cartoonish than the realism that the RE Engine usually conveys, we think the hero and his adventures would look great. Especially since Street Fighter 6 already let us see how beautiful and impressive hits can look.
Of course, if you don’t want to go that route, a simple remaster with some graphical improvements would work wonders. After all, we already saw that the cel shade style holds up perfectly over the years. We just want them to finally give us the opportunity to enjoy them on modern consoles.
1 – God Hand
God Hand really did justice to the GOD in its name by giving us one of the most unique, brutal and entertaining 3D beat em ups in all of history, not just in games. Capcom.
God Hand gave us the opportunity to create endless combos and face hordes of enemies while offering us a huge power trip that sometimes made us consider ourselves invincible. In addition, it had a dynamic difficulty level that changed according to the performance of each player.
Unfortunately at the time it didn’t do very well in sales, but over the years it became a kind of cult game. Several media outlets and players have revisited it and even consider it a gem and regret that it failed.
So a remaster with current graphics could give it the opportunity to be appreciated as it deserves by many more people. In addition, it would give us a title focused entirely on fun in an era where the most important thing seems to be complex stories and endless open worlds. Sometimes we just want to punch someone in the face. Virtually, of course.
Obviously Capcom It has countless video games that deserve at least one remastering, but we consider that these would be the ones that will benefit the most from one. Especially now.
And before you complain about where is Dino Crisis, we remind you that this is a top remaster. Dino Crisis deserves a full-fledged remake in the style of Resident Evil and not just a graphical improvement.
