At a campaign stop in Wisconsin, Trump becomes abusive towards Biden and Harris. The ex-president also agitates against immigrants.
Prairie du Chien – Donald Trump actually wanted to tone down his rhetoric after the attempted assassination. However, his incitement against Haitian immigrants in Springfield and his regular insults against his political opponents demonstrate the opposite. At a campaign event in Wisconsin, he insulted Kamala Harris as “mentally impaired.” “Joe Biden was mentally impaired. “Kamala was born like this,” the presidential candidate blasphemed republican.
First was with his Campaign appearance the main focus is on immigration and illegal immigrants. Since his televised duel with Harris and his lie about Haitians eating pets, the issue of illegal immigration seems to have become even more prominent than it already was. Before Trump took the lectern, three women told of personal blows of fate in which illegal immigrants were said to have been involved.
Trump’s strategy for the US election: hate speech against immigrants
A popular strategy of Trump, who likes to portray all refugees from Mexico and Latin America as criminals. To underline his arguments, several mugshots of migrants were displayed to the left and right of the lectern, with their respective crimes as signatures.
Then Trump himself spoke. “Border Czarina Harris went to the border to lie in the most shameless and cruel way where she has caused so much suffering, misery and death. There is no greater act of disloyalty than wiping out the sovereignty of one’s own nation right at the border.” But that wasn’t enough, his hateful tirades were just beginning. “Our criminals look against them (migrants, Note d. Red.) look like babies. They are ice cold killers. They go into your kitchen and cut your throat.”
Trump attacks Kamala Harris personally: She was born mentally impaired
Then he addressed the vice president directly: “Kamala is mentally impaired. … She was born like this.” He continued: “If you think about it, only a mentally retarded person could have allowed something like this to happen to our country. Everyone knows that.” In Trump’s entire speech, which lasted over 70 minutes, the ex-president railed against illegal immigration and Kamala Harris’ immigration policy without a break – other topics were absent.
But Trump also has popular support when it comes to illegal immigration. 88 percent of Trump supporters and 27 percent of Harris supporters support mass deportations of illegal immigrants – a total of almost 56 percent of all registered voters. And a full 88 percent of all voters are in favor of more border security. The Pew Research Center surveyed 9,201 adults for the survey between August 5th and 11th.
US voters support Trump’s tougher immigration policies
What may seem surprising: Despite Trump’s narrative that illegal immigrants are responsible for the high crime rate, 53 percent of Trump supporters surveyed believe that immigrants have no influence on crime in the USA. 10 percent even said that immigrants would reduce the crime rate in the USA.

Whether Trump’s strategy ultimately pays off will become clear after the US election. So far, Harris is ahead in the national polls, but the gap between the two presidential candidates is very close, especially in the swing states. Wisconsin is also one of the swing states, where, according to the portal Fivethirtyeight Harris is currently two points ahead of Trump with 47 percent at just under 49 percent. (sir)
