Sevilla snatched a valuable point by drawing with host Athletic Bilbao 1-1, in the eighth round of the Spanish Football League.
Bilbao took the lead with a goal by Mikel Jaureguizar, after 36 minutes, but the Basque team completed the match with ten players, after its goalkeeper Julen Aguirzabala was sent off in the 82nd minute, and Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was forced to bring in substitute goalkeeper Alejandro Badia in the final minutes. Sevilla took advantage of an own goal scored by substitute goalkeeper Badia by mistake, after a ball bouncing off the crossbar hit his body before entering the net.
Bilbao raised its score with this draw to 14 points, keeping it in fourth place, while Sevilla continued its awakening with a win and two draws in the last three rounds, raising its score to 9 points in thirteenth place.
