Hockey|Doctor Jari Parkkari estimates what time frame Patrik Laine can recover from.
Sports medicine specialist Jari Parkkari estimate that Patrick Laine can get back to the rink during this season.
Laine was injured in a training match the night before Sunday, Finnish time, when Toronto Cedric Pare tackled him with a knee. The Finnish star’s knee twisted in an ominous way.
“Based on the video, Pate’s left knee is twisted and the collateral ligament of the knee is stretched. You’ll recover from that in six weeks,” Parkkari estimates, but adds:
“If the anterior cruciate ligament is damaged at the same time, it will take more than six months to recover.”
In such a case, Laine would not necessarily have time to rehabilitate himself during the entire NHL season.
Laine did not play again after his injury in the match. The RDS reporter who was on the spot at the match Patrik Friolet reports on the message sharing service X that Laine left the hall on crutches. The puck player had a brace on his knee.
With a wave have had very bad luck in recent years. He has suffered from injuries at regular intervals during the previous four seasons.
The Finn moved from Columbus to Montreal this summer, after which he had been sidelined from NHL games for about half a year.
Last season, Laine first suffered a concussion and then a collarbone injury. In January, the Finnish star missed the season and applied for the treatment program of the NHL and the NHL players’ association for mental health reasons.
Laine only had time to play one full training match in his new club before his injury. Montreal begins its NHL season on October 10.
