The 2027 Champions League final will not be held in Milan amid uncertainty over the future of the San Siro stadium, UEFA said on Tuesday. “As the Municipality of Milan cannot guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings will not be affected by renovation works during the 2027 Champions League final, it has been decided not to award the final to Milan,” UEFA said in a statement.
UEFA added that it had reopened “the bidding process to select a suitable venue and a decision is expected in May or June 2025”, with the 2026 final to be held in Budapest.
