The coalition former long-time member of parliament and EU parliamentarian Kirsi Piha tells In an interview with Apu magazine that he resigned from the membership of the coalition last December.
“In the end, I came to the conclusion that the direction the coalition is now taking is a direction I don’t want to support,” says Piha in an interview with the newspaper.
“I don’t want to be legitimizing what’s happening now, I’m not part of that group.”
The yard in my opinion, the prevailing idea in the current government is to get the economy in order first, and only then return to issues such as equality and human perceptions.
He also criticizes the government’s anti-racism campaign.
“We have that problem ourselves, and then we build a campaign for others. What the hell is going on here”, Piha describes in the interview.
“I don’t like it Petteri Orpoa as a racist. But the fact is that, as prime minister, he enables, legitimizes and in a way, in my opinion, incites such thinking in this coalition in Finland.”
From the yard a book published by WSOY will be published in the next few days Strangers. According to Apu magazine, Piha says in the book that he voted for president Pekka Haavisto (green) and not the coalition’s candidate Alexander Stubbia.
After his political career, Piha founded the Ellun Kanat communications office, where he is still a board member.
He made one more foray into politics, when the coalition elected him after the vote as Helsinki’s mayoral candidate in the last municipal elections in 2021.
However, Piha withdrew from the nomination at the last minute.
He told In an interview with Helsingin Sanomat the reason being that he was attacked on social media, and among the whistleblowers were also members of the coalition.
At the same time, Piha also published a pamphlet in which he criticized the internal state of the coalition.
