The Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the third round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, dedicated to the “without suit” category competitions, starting from Friday until Sunday at the “Al Bayt Mutawahid” Hall in the Emirate of Sharjah.
This round is the third of five rounds during the current season that are being organized in different regions of the country. The tournament attracts the participation of players from different age groups, including juniors, youth, adults and masters in the “suit” and “no suit” categories.
This round of the championship is of exceptional importance as it is the last of the “No Suit” category competitions, and it grants the winners double classification points, which enhances their chances of achieving the title, as this incentive provides an opportunity for the players to show their best abilities and rise in the technical classification ladder of the Federation.
Yasser Mohammed Al Qubaisi, the technical supervisor at the federation, said: “This round of the tournament witnessed an unprecedented participation rate, as the percentage of participating players increased by 50% compared to the second round, representing 35 academies and clubs, which reflects the importance of the competitions in the category without a suit, knowing that it requires high skills, speed of movement and different strategies to deal with the absence of a suit, which plays an important technical role.”
Khalid Ibrahim Al Nakhi, Board Member of Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club and Jiu-Jitsu Supervisor, confirmed that holding the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the Emirate of Sharjah contributes to achieving a qualitative addition in the field of spreading the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in the emirate, pointing out that the club’s sports training department, in accordance with the directives of the club’s Board of Directors, has completed its preparations for the largest participation in the club’s history in terms of the number of players who have the ability to compete and win medals.
Al-Nakhi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Jiu-Jitsu Federation for the great support it provides to Jiu-Jitsu players and clubs, stressing that this has contributed to creating a broad base of distinguished players and great ambition to achieve accomplishments, and that the club aims to compete strongly for the championship title as a culmination of its efforts in the past period, and its leadership in the second round competitions.
The third round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held over three days, starting on Friday with the senior and masters categories, and the competitions will resume on Saturday with the under-12 and under-14 categories, and the championship will conclude on Sunday with the under-16 and youth categories.
