Ministry of Defense: Engineering troops used BMR-3M Vepr for mine clearance in DPR
Specialists from the engineering troops of the Russian Armed Forces used the BMR-3M Vepr armored mine-clearing vehicle to clear agricultural land in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) of explosive objects. This reported in the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Vepr is capable of clearing passages in minefields, leaving a strip about four meters wide for the safe movement of tracked and wheeled vehicles. “Sappers used an armored vehicle to clear agricultural land near the village of Telmanovo, from which the Ukrainian Armed Forces fled more than two years ago, but left behind many explosive devices,” the statement said.
After the BMR-3M has completed its work, sappers go out into the field to thoroughly clear the area using probes and mine detectors. Explosive objects that cannot be removed are destroyed on the spot. It is noted that in six months, a group of sappers from the combined demining detachment has discovered and destroyed more than 200 dangerous objects.

In June, a BMR-3MA with a lattice screen for protection against kamikaze drones and projectiles dropped from drones was spotted in the area of the special operation. The vehicle, based on the T-90 tank chassis, received smoke grenade launchers and a large-caliber NSVT machine gun.
