In Krasnoyarsk, the Soviet District Court sentenced artist Vasily Slonov to a year of correctional labor for a tumbler doll with the symbols of the extremist movement AUE (Arestantsky Uklad Edin), which is banned in Russia. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the united press service of the regional courts.
He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 282.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public display of extremist symbols”). The court ordered 15 percent of his income to be paid to the state and the destruction of the tumbler doll.
Slonov was detained on February 9 at the Krasnoyarsk airport. The detainee had a ticket to Kazakhstan with him. It was specified that the artist was detained at the last moment. The reason for the detention was a photo of a doll posted on the artist’s page in one of the social networks. On February 10, the court placed him under house arrest.
