Movies|The Finnish film set in the 1980s was the jury’s favorite.
Finnish movie Missile received international recognition in Belgium, at the Waterloo Festival focusing on historical films, says Le Suricate.
Miia Tervon The film, set in the 1980s, won the festival’s feature length fiction films. Starring in the movie I am Airola received the award for best actress in the competition.
The winner of the fiction films was chosen by a jury consisting of directors, screenwriters and young filmmakers. It has not publicly stated the reasons for its choices.
Aerosol got previously also the best actor award at the Gothenburg Film Festival. In the reasons for the gender-neutral award, Airola was praised for her heart-warming interpretation of the role.
“The actor skillfully balances between drama and comedy, mixing exposed vulnerability and magnetic power of expression,” the justification for the Gothenburg film festival says.
Domestically in the comedy, a Soviet missile hits Lapland. Airola plays a single mother and journalist who reluctantly finds herself at the heart of a sensitive investigation.
The film received four stars in HS’s assessment.

The premiere of the movie Ohjus was on September 21, 2023. The movie can currently be found on the streaming service Netflix.
