Former Pentagon Adviser McGregor: US Should Focus on Middle East
The United States needs to focus its attention and resources on the military operation in Lebanon and the war in the Middle East, not on the Ukrainian conflict. This is stated Former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas MacGregor in conversation with Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen.
“I believe that the conflict in the Middle East now poses a much greater danger to us than what is happening in Ukraine,” the expert expressed his opinion.
The American authorities need to think about “how to avoid a massive clash in the Middle East, which increasingly seems inevitable,” McGregor added. According to the former Pentagon adviser, against the backdrop of the maturing threat in the Middle East, the West may finally lose interest in military support for Ukraine, thereby bringing the end of the conflict closer.
Earlier, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, stated that Western countries, despite the crisis in the Middle East and the war in the Gaza Strip, want to put Ukraine at the forefront of all discussions at the UN.
A few days earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the United States would do everything possible to prevent the conflict in the Middle East from escalating into a full-scale war.
