Steam Steam is, without a doubt, the most important digital store for PC users. Thanks to its accessibility and ease of use, it’s no big surprise to hear that the number of users is constantly growing. Now, it has been revealed that a new record has been reached for peak player numbers on Steam, Surpassing 38 million simultaneous users.
Last August we saw a simultaneous peak of over 37 million users, but gamers would break this record yesterday, September 22, when 38,367,277 logged in at the same time, thus establishing a new milestone that sounds difficult to beat, but not impossible. Along with this, The top 10 titles with the most simultaneous players were revealed, which helped reach this figure. These are:
- Counter-Strike 2 – 1,459,492.
- PUBG: Battlegrounds – 787,340.
- Dota 2 – 731,193.
- Black Myth: Wukong – 533,128.
- Banana – 369,000.
- Naraka: Bladepoint – 298,908.
- Apex Legends – 249,334.
- Satisfactory – 177,034.
- Grand Theft Auto V – 165,613.
- Deadlock – 151,680.
Considering that the previous record for the platform was broken in less than a month, It would not be unreasonable to see that at some point in October we will be talking about more than 39 million users on Steam.. It’s just a matter of time. On a related note, SteamOS is coming to more devices. Likewise, Black Myth: Wukong suffers a drop in players.
Author’s Note:
Given Steam’s popularity, this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. The only thing that’s notable is that, outside of Black Myth: Wukong, the top 10 games are all free-to-play titles, or experiences that have been around for years.
