Figure skater Zagitova on her application for a grant for the show: I am a newbie in the field of producing
Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova has defended her application for a grant to hold the Scarlet Sails ice show in St. Petersburg. Her words are quoted on her Instagram page (a social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
The athlete stated that the experience of participating in the competition was her first, emphasizing that she did not indicate sponsorship or personal resources involved. “I am a newbie in the field of producing, but I try to learn from the best, whom I have attracted to my team,” Zagitova explained.
On September 17, it became known that Zagitova had requested more than 74 million rubles for the ice show “Scarlet Sails”. It was noted then that the athlete did not plan to attract third-party sponsors or invest her own funds.
In August, Zagitova presented her debut ice show, “Time Keepers.” The performances took place in Kazan and were timed to coincide with the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan.
