Tensions are growing around the March to Save Bolivia, a procession led by the country’s former president, Evo Morales. The group of protesters demanding that Morales be enabled as a candidate for the 2025 elections and that the Government solve the current economic crisis entered La Paz on Monday.
The mobilization generated clashes with groups that support the current president, Luis Arce. Tensions between Morales and Arce have been increasing over control of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS). Currently, in the midst of the power struggle, the party has been left without a board of directors or official candidates for the next elections.
