US sends additional troops to the region
“In light of the rising tensions in the Middle East, and out of an abundance of caution, We are sending a small number of additional troops to augment our forces that are already in the region.” This is how Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder announced the sending of US reinforcements to the Middle East, as reported by CNN, without providing further details on the number of soldiers sent, which corps they belong to and where they will be sent. “For operational security reasons I will not be making any further statements,” he said.
