Atlanta Federal Reserve President Raphael Bostic said the economy is “effectively” close to conditions that would be considered normal, in a speech given on Monday, 23, at a seminar at the European Center for Economics and Finance, at the University of London.
The official said progress on inflation had happened faster than expected and that price increases were almost in line with the 2% target.
“The latest data solidifies my conviction that the U.S. economy is indeed moving sustainably back toward price stability,” Bostic said.
