Assassin’s Creed Shadows will allow us to explore a slice of Japan, in the shoes of two characters. The setting will also be the protagonist as always, the details of which will also change based on the current season.
But how deep will it be? Seasonal management? Will Assassin’s Creed Shadows, for example, challenge us with the uniqueness of each period of the year? The answer is no, according to a recent interview.
Ubisoft’s Words on Assassin’s Creed Shadows Seasons
In an interview with Play magazine, Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ artistic director Thierry Dansereau explains that Ubisoft didn’t want the changing seasons “to be something that could be perceived as very negative or that had a negative impact on the way you play“.
Instead, the changes caused by the seasons will be probably limited to the animation level. This could mean that Yasuke and Naoe might have to climb through snowdrifts a bit uncomfortably during the winter or protect themselves from the rain during the autumn.
However, this will not force the player to face new gameplay challenges. For example, guards won’t be able to follow footprints in the snow, and characters won’t risk slipping while climbing a rain-soaked wall.
We are sure that some fans will be sorry for the thing, since it would have given more depth to the game, but probably for the general public it is the best solution. Many certainly prefer not to have to worry too much about the weather while playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
We also point out that Ubisoft has talked about the size of Assassin’s Creed Shadows when compared to other chapters.
