The court has remanded former Deputy Chairman of the Primorsky Krai Government Elena Parkhomenko into custody. The press secretary of the regional court told the agency about this RIA Novosti.
“The Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok has chosen a preventive measure for E.A. Parkhomenko in the form of detention until October 21, 2024. The Primorsky Regional Court has left the ruling of the court of first instance unchanged,” she said.
The press secretary also emphasized that the corresponding preventive measure was chosen within the framework of the criminal case. Parkhomenko is accused under points “b” and “e” of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Abuse of official authority”).
Earlier, the head of the Bezenchuk district of the Samara region was arrested on suspicion of extorting bribes. The arrested official faces up to 12 years in prison under paragraphs “b, c” of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receiving a bribe by extortion, through an intermediary, in a large amount”).
