This time, Biden was about to introduce the next speaker until he completely forgot who he was supposed to introduce.
The New York Post by The 81-year-old Biden was supposed to be invited by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to the stage, but the president seemed unsure of who would be next. The leaders of Japan and Australia were also present at the event.
“Who do I introduce next?” Biden asked at the end of his speech.
The question was followed by a long silence, after which Biden repeated his question in a more heated tone.
Finally, Modi rose himself as his name was announced in the background. After this, Biden joked that Modi comes from a country as small in population as the United States. Biden also called Modi a good friend.
India is the most populous country in the world with 1.4 billion inhabitants, while the United States is the third largest with 333 million inhabitants.
It wasn’t the first time Biden has slurred his words. For example, in July, at the NATO Ukraine Council press conference, Biden invited the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky accidentally “president [Vladimir] For Putin“.
“President Putin? You beat President Putin! President Zelenskyi. I’m so focused on defeating Putin, we’ll take care of that,” Biden corrected his words.
