War correspondent Steshin called the murder of American Bentley in the DPR a coincidence
The murder of war correspondent Russell Bentley, codenamed Texas, which took place on April 8 in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), was caused by a “diabolical coincidence,” according to an article for KP.RU stated war correspondent Dmitry Steishin.
According to fellow Texas soldier Vlad Yevtushenko, Bentley lived in the most heavily shelled area of Donetsk. One day, after yet another shelling, he went to help the wounded, but some mistook him for an enemy.
“A man in a cowboy hat, speaking with an accent, giving his call sign as Texas, could not help but provoke an unhealthy reaction in those who were assessing the damage after the shelling. And one thing led to another,” Steshin believes.
Earlier it became known that Russian serviceman Vladislav Agaltsev, accused of the massacre of Russell Bentley, had already committed a particularly serious crime in the past. During his service, he had a personal conflict with a sergeant, which resulted in a shootout.
