According to the Emirates News Agency, the country provided 12 tons of medical aid, medicines and basic supplies to the World Health Organization through Operation “Gallant Knight 3”, to support hospitals and healthcare institutions in light of the difficult circumstances that the Gaza Strip is going through.
During the meeting, the joint coordination between the two parties was emphasized in the field of evacuating the wounded and the hospital continuing to receive the wounded on an ongoing basis to support the health situation in the Gaza Strip.
It was agreed to cooperate between the hospital and the World Health Organization to ensure the continuity of medical aid delivery and to fill the gap in the health sector.
The two sides also discussed medical plans to support the Palestinians, including the possibility of providing the necessary medical services, establishing coordination mechanisms to support the health sector, helping children with cancer and evacuating them for treatment abroad, in addition to providing the necessary medicines and medical supplies.
This visit comes as part of the exceptional humanitarian efforts of the UAE field hospital, its endeavor to enhance medical cooperation with the World Health Organization and highlight its significant role in providing health care in Gaza since its opening.
The WHO delegation praised the UAE’s pioneering humanitarian role in the medical field and its continuous efforts to provide health care to the wounded under the difficult circumstances in the Gaza Strip.
