The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, witnessed the graduation of the first land rescue team of 18 female officers from the country, in the presence of the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, the Acting Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, Major General Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, the Acting Director of the General Department of Excellence and Leadership, Brigadier Dr. Saleh Al Hamrani, the Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, Brigadier Nabil Abdullah Al Redha, the Director of the Search and Rescue Department, Colonel Expert Khalid Al Hammadi, and a number of officers.
The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police congratulated the members of the first-of-its-kind women’s team in the country on their graduation from specialized courses in land rescue, stressing Dubai Police’s commitment to empowering women in various security and military fields, raising their efficiency, and enrolling them in scientific and field training that enhances their ability to perform their work efficiently and professionally, and enables them to deal professionally with emergency situations.
He added, “Emirati women play a vital role in the development witnessed by the country in various fields, including the security and police sectors. We are proud to establish the first team of female elements who will work alongside their male colleagues in carrying out land rescue operations. With the presence of qualified female elements capable of facing challenges and contributing effectively to rescue operations, this contributes to strengthening the police work system.”
For his part, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi congratulated the female personnel on their graduation, passing courses, training and field scenarios that simulate reality, and their ability to reach advanced levels in how to deal with accidents and reports with standard indicators. He praised the high skills shown by the 18 graduates in training and dealing with different scenarios, and their great keenness to prove their worthiness and capabilities in dealing with rescue, landing and recovery operations.
For their part, the graduates expressed their pride in this achievement, especially since they are the first to specialize in land rescue operations, stressing that the keenness and interest of Dubai Police in qualifying and training them reflects the approach it follows in empowering women in the security and police sectors.
The graduation witnessed the implementation of many scenarios, including those specialized in rescue operations in road accidents and foam firefighting, how to open vehicle doors, how to use lighting devices, and how to use balloons.
