A group of migrants from Central and South America passing through Puebla, in central Mexico, ask the next Government of Claudia Sheinbaum to be more sensitive to them, so they only ask to cross Mexican territory to achieve the American dream.

Coming from Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Honduras and Guatemala, they have walked for two months in a caravan, with the thought of having a better future for themselves and their families.
They are looking for a place with development and opportunities, as they shared with EFE.
As they passed through the central Mexican state of Puebla, their walk was complicated by the heavy rain that fell on Wednesday and they had to take refuge in an abandoned warehouse, where they spread plastic sheets on the floor to accommodate themselves and sleep for a while before continuing their walk.
They shared in interviews that they had been running for around 40 kilometers without resting, because the Mexican immigration authorities would not let them move forward.
Michelle Soares, a Venezuelan migrant, shared with EFE that she began her journey because of the death of her wife, who suffered from diabetes and the health sector in his country did not have the necessary supplies for treatment. He said he would look for a better future for his five-year-old son who is accompanying him on this long journey.
The South American asked Sheinbaum to modify the mistreatment of the elements of the National Migration Institute (INM) when she takes office, because they only seek support.
He assured that they did not come to cause unrest in the country, that he had supported them in many things and that he had always been generous with them.
“She knows, as she is a woman, she knows the situation in each country, we are all Mexican, Ecuadorian, Peruvian, Venezuelan, Colombian, Dominican migrants, Cubans, we are all migrants in the United States, what I could tell you is that the immigration authorities should be a little more humane and not treat us badly,” he said.
Mister Lea, originally from Honduras, travels alone and seeks to reach the United States to look for a job, where he can earn resources to send to his family.
He predicted that the president-elect of Mexico will be able to help them with their needs, since, he said, she is sensitive and, as a woman, she has better feelings about the suffering of others.
“The (next) president does seem to be a good person, from a humble family, and she could help us,” he said.
He also said that migrants leave their countries of origin “because (their countries) are not doing well.”
“We want to get to the United States, all we want is passage, we did not come to bother anyone, what we want is to get there and help our family, our children, and what we want is for God to bless us,” he concluded.
