The second season of XDefiant is just days away from launch and Mark Rubin, executive producer at Ubisoft, says that the game is more alive than ever, thus contradicting rumors that the company is already thinking about shutting down its servers.
It should be noted that this First Person Shooter or FPS was only released in May 2024 on consoles and PC. That is, it is only a few months old after suffering multiple delays in its publication.
XDefiant received a great reception after a successful beta. But in an August report this year it was revealed that it was not generating enough money for Ubisoft and executives were losing confidence.

However, Rubin shares another perspective and talked about the improvements that the game will have in its network code and impact registration. Then, this producer pointed out ‘I want to quickly address the state of the game, i.e. whether it is dying’.
Mark Rubin ‘No, the game is not dying at all’he said in this regard XDefiant. As part of another comment he emphasized ‘[…]is doing well’. To the above, he added ‘We just want it to work better and we do that by addressing the concerns of our community, which has always been the plan’.
Rubin pointed out ‘Ubisoft is very supportive and has allocated more resources to the team so we can do that.’. That is very significant.
It’s clear that Ubisoft still has faith in XDefiantotherwise I wouldn’t be investing in its maintenance. The second season of the game’s content will begin on September 25, 2024. The preview in this note allows us to appreciate some of the new features it includes.
So for now there are no ‘red lights’ surrounding this title and it is best to keep an eye on how this video game develops from now on.
Other news related to Ubisoft has to do with Assassin’s Creed Shadows and their world, while a couple of the company’s titles will receive new features.
