BBC chief Davie says he can’t imagine Edwards on the channel
BBC Director General Tim Davie has weighed in on the likelihood of child pornography presenter Huw Edwards returning to the channel. His words are quoted on website companies.
“This man was convicted of terrible crimes. I can’t imagine him working here again,” the company’s CEO said.
Earlier it became known that Edwards was sentenced in the case of possession of child pornography. It was noted that he received a six-month suspended sentence. He was also ordered to pay $4.1 million to the victims of his actions.

In April, Edwards retired from broadcasting after 40 years. In July 2023, it emerged that an unnamed BBC employee had been accused of buying intimate photographs from a teenager. The person was later identified as Edwards.
