Military Correspondent Kots Announces Destruction of First Leopard Tank Near Kursk
Russian army soldiers in the Kursk region encountered the German Leopard tank for the first time in the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by military correspondent Alexander Kots.
German tanks with crosses on their sides, just like 81 years ago, are rushing towards Kursk. Right over the bones of their predecessors
He noted that the latest report from the Russian Ministry of Defense, among other losses in enemy equipment, listed a Leopard destroyed with the help of aviation and artillery fire from Russian soldiers.
Russian Armed Forces Set a Trap for Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk Region
Russian army fighters prepared a fire trap for the enemy in the Kursk region. As a result, a huge amount of Ukrainian military equipment fell into the trap created near the settlements of Novy Put and Volfino.
“A simply gigantic number of burned armored vehicles and destroyed enemy personnel was recorded,” the MIG Rossii Telegram channel stated.

From September 17 to 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces made four attempts to break through the Russian border in the Kursk region. All enemy attacks were repelled, the country’s Defense Ministry reported.
It was noted that Ukrainian troops tried to break through in the direction of Veseloye and Medvezhye. In doing so, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 70 personnel and two tanks, one of which was a German Leopard, which appeared for the first time on the territory of the Russian region. In addition, the enemy lost two CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles, delivered to Ukraine from Sweden, and eight armored vehicles.
Russia assessed the security of Leopard tanks that appeared in the Kursk region
The dynamic protection that the German Leopard 1 tanks in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces are equipped with will not protect the vehicle from Russian anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). The protection of the upgraded tanks was assessed by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta noted that the Kontakt dynamic protection blocks only cover the tank’s hull and turret, and are therefore only effective against small-caliber guns. Against modern ATGMs, such protective armor makes little sense.
In addition, additional elements significantly increase the weight of the tank and reduce its mobility in the field.
