According to the specialized site DownDetector, which monitors the status of various digital platforms, the service is down worldwide, affecting users in multiple regions. The page has shown a considerable spike in complaints in the last few hourswhich confirms the magnitude of the failure.

On social media, users have expressed their frustration and bewilderment with comments such as “Is Instagram down or did I run out of data?”reflecting the confusion that this type of interruption generates.

So far, Meta, the company that owns Instagramhas not issued an official statement on the causes of the failure or an estimated time for the solution to the problem. However, the platform is expected to be back up and running in the next few hours.
