The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill on increasing the fine for a driver’s refusal to stop
The State Duma (SD) has adopted in the first reading a bill that implies a more than tenfold increase in the fine for drivers who refuse to stop at the request of a police officer. This was reported by TASS.
Changes are proposed to be made to the Code of Administrative Offences. Members of parliament want to increase the fine to 7-10 thousand roubles. In case of repeated violations, drivers are proposed to be deprived of their license for up to six months.
According to the current legislation, the amount of the fine for this violation is a fine of 500 to 800 rubles. The fine may be issued to citizens driving who do not stop at the request of a police officer, customs official or person exercising control in the transport sector.
Earlier, the Russian Government supported a project that envisages the introduction of administrative liability for repeated driving of a car or other vehicle without an MTPL policy. The project to introduce a fine was developed by the parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria.
