Criminal suspicions|Sebastian Lämsä, known for his far-right connections, is charged with two attempted murders.
Prosecutor has filed charges against one person for two attempted murders and one illegal threat in Oulu in June.
The prosecutor’s office reported this on Wednesday.
It is about a case where an extreme rightist Sebastian Lämsän is suspected of first stabbing a 12-year-old boy in the Valkea shopping center in the center of Oulu and then trying to stab another boy. The boy who was stabbed was of foreign origin.
“The defendant has admitted in the preliminary investigation that he committed and attempted to commit violence against two people,” says the prosecutor.
The trial will begin at the Oulu district court in early October.
Lämsä, which has a neo-Nazi background, has a long history of violence related to the extreme right in recent years.
Heat was sent for a mental state examination at the beginning of July at the request of the prosecutor, which is relatively rare in the middle of a preliminary investigation.
According to the prosecutor, the preliminary investigation had revealed such facts about the suspect’s health, on the basis of which he ended up proposing to be sent for a mental state examination.
Prosecutor Juha Karikoski says that a trial can be organized even if a mental state examination is in progress. According to him, Lämsä is only in the queue for the study, and there are a limited number of places.
Another stabbing of a person with a foreign background took place in Valkea shopping center in June, shortly after Lämsä’s suspected act. In that case, a 15-year-old boy is suspected of having stabbed the man. The police suspect that the motive was racist.
