Genoa – Third consecutive day of strike for Techinsub workers, Genoese company in the scuba diving sector. The approximately fifty employees are protesting this morning in the streets of the city center, despite the rain. Also marching are several delegations from other metalworking companies. The latest sales negotiations with a company in South East Asia fell through, and if a buyer is not found by the end of the year, the company risks closure.
The Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci and the Councilor for Work and Development economic of the Municipality of Genoa, Marta Brusoni, then held a meeting with representatives of workers and unions involved in the Technisub dispute, the company that produces scuba diving equipment, based in Val Bisagno, whose owners announced the closure of the production site in Genoa at the end of the year. Also present at the meeting was the president of Municipio IV Media Val Bisagno, Naurizio Uremassi. “We will ask for a meeting with the management of the current owners and then we will conduct a survey with companies potentially interested in acquiring a company that is healthy, has orders and excellent know-how. As the Municipality of Genoa, impartially, we will take these two steps because the goal is to maintain a historic industrial excellence of the territory, safeguard the employment levels of a strategic production facility for the Bisagno Valley, which, with the infrastructure and transport investments planned for the next few years, has enormous potential – the mayor declared – At the next visit of Minister Urso to Genoa we will illustrate the situation of a company that is a symbol of Made in Italy whose industrial value we do not want to be lost”. In two weeks there will be an update between the municipal administration and trade union representatives.
