Swedish would be given primary responsibility for the NATO FLF forces (Forward Land Forces) deployed in Northern Finland, says Svenska Dagbladet (SvD).
According to SvD, Sweden would be attaching 20–50 officers to Finland for this purpose, who would be in Finland permanently. The forces of other countries, on the other hand, would be mobile.

The governments of Finland and Sweden are currently meeting in Stockholm, and this topic is also expected to be part of the discussions there.
of the FLF forces the idea is that the soldiers of certain NATO countries would rotate through Finland for training. According to SvD’s information, Sweden would be responsible for coordinating the training activities.
Defense secretary Antti Häkkänen (kok) has previously described that the size of the presence could be scaled as needed if, for example, the security political situation were to tighten. The countries would therefore not station large numbers of troops in Finland permanently.
Details are not yet known. For example, the desired size of the troops in different situations has not been stated precisely.
Häkkänen has stated only that you can take a cue from the permanent force structures of the Baltics and other countries, where the goal has been to raise the level from battalion to brigade. For example in Lithuania the size is promised to increase to 5,000 soldiers. in Latvia it is about more than 3,500 soldiers.
NATO currently has forces of a similar type in eight of its eastern member states.
of the FLF forces in addition, the sub-staff of the NATO ground forces is coming to Finland, which is a separate process from this project.
Also, how Finland would be defended if it were a real war situation and thus NATO’s Article 5 would be implemented, is a separate issue from the FLF forces.
