Russian experts have begun a detailed study of the Storm Shadow missile parts
Russian specialists have begun a more detailed study of parts of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missile. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
As the expert explained, the bottom area of the warhead of the Anglo-French missile is currently being examined. “The bottom part of the main warhead. It contains the fuse, the intermediate charge, which initiates the warhead of the missile,” he said.
According to the specialist, when penetrating fortifications, the pre-charge is first triggered. Then, with a cumulative jet, it creates a hole in which the studied part of the missile is triggered.
The Times previously reported that Ukraine would have to rely on US data to use Storm Shadow missiles in strikes against Russia. Storm Shadows are guided to their targets using GPS, but Russian electronic warfare systems are successfully jamming navigation signals. An alternative is to use a classified US mapping system, but the US has not given Kyiv the go-ahead to use such weapons to strike deep into Russia.
