Raj said that psyllium husk has a unique effect on the gastrointestinal tract. According to him, it is equally useful for both difficulty in emptying the bowels and diarrhea. He explained that this is due to the soluble fiber, which makes up 80 percent of this unexpected remedy.
The therapist called psyllium husk an even more useful product for intestinal health than the famous chia seeds. “Psyllium seeds form a more viscous gel-like substance in the intestines. This attracts more water and is more effective in improving bowel regularity,” the doctor noted.
