Meghan Markle could spend Christmas in the UK with Prince Harry and their children, The Express has learned. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly received an invitation to spend the festive period with Charles Spencer at Althorp House and, if the couple were to accept it, Meghan would set foot in the UK for the first time since September 2022, when she attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
The source adds that “Harry and Meghan have not yet received an invitation to join the royal family at Sandringham“, where, as is known, he spends the Christmas holidays: “Even if it is not excluded that it could happen, I do not think they would accept it, if it were addressed to them”.
The Sussexes have not attended the royal Christmas celebrations at Sandringham since 2018. Harry visited Althorp House, the Spencer family home and the final resting place of his late mother Diana, during his trip to the UK last week. The duke, who will celebrate his 40th birthday next week, attended Lord Robert Fellowes’ memorial service in Norfolk on August 28.
