State employees retiring at 70 on a voluntary basis. This is according to the Minister of Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo, who in an interview with Corriere explains that he has “”proposed a 10%” possible percentage of adhesions.
“In building the seven-year medium-term budget plan, to be included in the next budget law, with the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti we are discussing the possibility of deepening the opportunity of retention up to 3 years more…for administrations, including decentralized ones, that consider the possibility of retaining a number of employees in percentage of turnover to be an important management lever up to 70 years (in the case of retirement at 67). On a voluntary basis”, he states.
But the goal is, at the same time, to continue strengthening the PZ: “In 2023 we hired 173 thousand people. We will do the same in 2024 and 2025. And we will continue to hire, because between now and 2030 the PA will lose almost a million people, who will retire, after the drop of 300 thousand employees, who were not replaced due to the freeze on turnover from 2010 to 2020”.
