Ciudad Juarez.- Jornada Corazón is a health event that emerged as an initiative of the Sé Feliz Foundation, AC, in conjunction with other organizations, to provide medical support to the migrant population, homeless people, or people in vulnerable conditions.
The Border Zone Resources and Support Coalition (Corazón) carries out this project at the Benito Juárez Monument on a monthly basis in conjunction with health agencies and civil associations.
The participating organizations are from Juárez and El Paso, including HOP, Las Américas, Fondo Unido de Chihuahua, USMC Strategic Alliance and JRS.
It was the president of Sé Feliz, Michel Betancourt, who brought together all the entities to reach the largest possible population that circulates or lives in the Centro area, said Luzmila Chávez, director of Sé Feliz.
“The intention is to generate this synergy to help migrants and the general population with this free support,” he said.
The support consists of medical consultation, medication, dental cleanings, weight, height, blood pressure, and glucose measurements, as well as immigration advice. In addition, Health Jurisdiction II participates with vaccinations for children and adults, and cleaning kits are provided.
He said that in the next campaign they will have legal advice on civil and other matters, as well as psychological advice from other associations that have joined this initiative.
“The intention is to add value; the monument is a space for communication and meeting where we can interact with people who require this service,” he added.
The next event will take place on September 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
