There has always been a trend in the video game market: a console was released, time passed, then its price dropped. Partly because production became less expensive, “lighter” models were made, and also because companies wanted to attract new audiences who were not interested in paying full price for a product. In this generation it doesn’t seem like that at all, with PS5 for example increasing in price in some cases and certainly not decreasing. Now, even the controller PlayStation 5’s DualSense is increasing in price.
Specifically, the reports so far refer to Australia and the United States of America and, based on what we can see, the price has already increased. also in Italy.
Details on the PS5 DualSense controller price increase
The original recommended price of the DualSense was €69.99 upon launch, but now the recommended price is €74.99. The situation is the same in dollars. We are talking specifically about the standard white version. The colored versions always have the same recommended price, that is €74.99. The special versions – Cobalt Blue, Volcanic Red and Sterling Silvers – have instead increased by €5 in Italy, with a recommended price of €79.99.
Obviously we are talking about recommended price, not actual price. As you can see above, for the moment on Amazon Italy the price of the white DualSense is always €54.99, which is the standard offer for this product. Obviously with an increase in the recommended price it is possible that at some point the standard offer becomes €59.99, but this is just speculation.
