Moscow residents handed in about 300 kg of batteries for recycling in the summer of 2024
Visitors to the capital’s fairs handed in 300 kilograms of batteries for recycling in the summer of 2024, reported Press service of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services.
Collection containers were installed at the fairgrounds in early June, and since then 300 kilograms of used batteries have been sent to a plant in Chelyabinsk for recycling. Ballpoint pens and paint are produced from the raw materials obtained.
Environmental protection is the main priority of Moscow fairs. The fairs are open all week except Mondays, from 10:00 to 20:00. The stalls offer ecologically clean products from farmers and farms from more than 40 regions of Russia. Currently, you can get an ecological canvas shopping bag at ten sites.
Earlier it became known that residents of the Moscow region handed over 800 tons of household appliances for recycling through Megabak collection points. The largest amount of household waste was handed over by residents of the Korolev district – 455 tons. Second and third places were taken by Dmitrovsk with 78 tons and Yegoryevsk with 31 tons, respectively.
