Russian Defense Ministry Demonstrates Demining of Areas with Drones and Bombs
Engineers of the Russian Federation’s “Vostok” military group have learned a new method of “air demining” of terrain. The Ministry of Defense (MoD) showed it on video.
The agency reported that for aerial mine clearance, the military launches a reconnaissance drone that identifies explosive objects and unexploded shells of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Following it, a drone with a TNT block is sent to the mine, which the operator drops from the aerial device.
“Initially, we conduct engineering reconnaissance with a copter with a good camera. We fly at the lowest possible altitudes to increase the likelihood of detecting, for example, the same anti-personnel mine. After reconnaissance, we destroy enemy mines with surface charges,” said an engineer with the call sign Partizan.
The Ministry of Defense added that the usual sapper work is complicated by laser sensors on the mines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the high activity of Ukrainian drones.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in the border area of the Kursk region.
