Sister of Mercy Khudyakova reported assistance to a seriously ill Kursk refugee
An employee of the Synodal Department for Charity of the Russian Orthodox Church, Sister of Mercy Irina Khudyakova told how a balalaika helped a Kursk refugee to cheer up and get out of bed. She reported this case RIA Novosti.
The nurse explained that in one of the temporary accommodation points (TAP) there was a family of three: parents and their seriously ill son, who used to work as a music teacher. He asked Khudyakova if there was a balalaika in the TAP. “Of course not. We asked around in chats, but didn’t find one. Who cares about musical instruments now? But it stuck in my head,” she said.
Khudyakova said that she bought the balalaika from a seller in Kursk. It turned out that the musical instrument was missing one string, and the nurse had to visit several stores before she accidentally met a man who helped repair the balalaika.
In the morning, she brought a musical instrument to the temporary accommodation centre. The man “didn’t immediately understand that in front of him was the instrument he had been waiting for, he thought it was a dream.” “It’s important to be attentive to every person you meet. Sometimes, he needs just a little to perk up and have the strength to live on,” Khudyakova concluded.
Earlier, a resident of Sudzha spoke about the actions of the Russian military on the first day of the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She reported that thanks to the actions of the Russian fighters, the city’s residents were able to evacuate.
