Fire Department personnel suspended their search a few minutes ago for a teenager who was swept away by the stormwater current that flowed down the natural stream on Tapioca Street and empties into Paseo de la Victoria Avenue.
Sergio Rodriguez, director of Municipal Civil Protection, reported that the first search brigade will be reactivated at seven in the morning and will enter the maquiladora where most of the water flows. “We are searching, but we are not sure what happened to the student. A relative came with us and we are still responding to the report,” he said. Firefighters interviewed the maquiladora staff and they responded that they did not notice that anyone was swept away by the current, however, the reality is that the place is very dark and there is also the presence of weeds and garbage, so it is a high-risk area and it is not feasible to continue the search, said Rodriguez. Personnel from the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) went to the place and also reported the incident to Civil Protection, without favorable results so far. It was revealed that the missing teenager is between 15 and 17 years old and is a high school student.
