RemedyEntertainment gave an update on the status of the work within the company, which is carrying out several projects at the same time and, in particular, reported that Control 2 is practically playable at this point, while Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake Are In Full Production.
Literally, the development team has classified Control 2 as being in the “production readiness“, which usually, for a software, indicates the possibility of making it work correctly and fairly stably, always within a development environment.
It can therefore be said that the new chapter of the series can probably be played, in the sense that the software is usable at a certain level, but always considering that it is a game still in progress and obviously not complete.
Control 2, Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake and Condor Continue Work
Control 2 will soon enter the most lively production phase, where Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is also, apparently.
From Remedy’s documents we learn that the remakes of the first two chapters of the shooter have made progress “from production readiness to full production phase”.
The title is in progress as co-production with Rockstar Gamesa label that now owns the rights to the series, but development is practically in the hands of Remedy, which should ensure total fidelity to the source material.
Remedy’s third known project is also moving forward: there is talk of Project Condoror what should be a spin-off set in the world of Control but with a more multiplayer-oriented structure.
According to the report, “the development team has been working on several maps and mission types, and we’ve been organizing an increasing amount of playtesting internally and also externally on a limited basis to test features and get feedback.”
Alan Wake 2 also has almost completely recovered production costswith physical editions arriving this fall and the second expansion due around the same time.
