Governor Artamonov reported a “massive attack” by drones on Lipetsk
On the night of Friday, August 9, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) staged a “massive attack” on Lipetsk. This was reported by the region’s governor Igor Artamonov.
He said that the city was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Shortly before this, a drone attack threat was announced in Lipetsk, residents were urged to stay in a safe place until the signal was cleared and to stay away from windows.
One of the drones that crashed in the Lipetsk region damaged an energy infrastructure facility. As a result of the incident, power supply disruptions occurred. Specialists are currently eliminating them.
Later, Artamonov reported that explosive objects had detonated in the region far from civilian buildings. All emergency services had arrived at the scene.
Lipetsk residents began receiving fake calls to leave the city amid the attack. Authorities believed that Ukraine was behind it
Against the backdrop of the attack on Lipetsk, messages began to appear on social networks and messengers calling on local residents to leave the city. Artamonov, commenting on the situation, called them fake and called on the population not to panic.
Such messages are sent by the enemy in order to sow panic and create a dangerous situation.
He again asked the citizens to stay in a safe place and follow the rules of conduct at the red level of threat. The governor also spoke about the introduction of the emergency regime in the Lipetsk municipal district. This measure was taken to eliminate the consequences of the detonation of explosive objects.
