It will be a weekend with red-flagged heat in much of Italy. Today and tomorrow, August 9 and 10, there are 9 cities with alert level 3, the highest, and “emergency conditions (heat wave) with possible negative effects on the health of healthy and active people and not only on the subgroups at risk”. This is highlighted in the bulletin on heat waves from the Ministry of Health which elaborates reports for 27 cities, with forecasts for 24, 48 and 72 hours.
Cities in the grip of the heat
Today is red dot to Brescia, Campobasso, Frosinone, Latina, Palermo, Perugia, Rieti and Rome. Tomorrow Florence will be added to these cities for a total of 9 provincial capitals in the grip of the heat. But the other 18 cities are not doing any better in terms of temperatures, for 11 between today and tomorrow there will be an orange warning (alert 2): Bologna, Bolzano, Civitavecchia, Genoa, Messina, Naples, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona and Viterbo.
