Between June and July, a Berlin doctor is said to have killed four elderly women. The elderly women were apparently under his care. The public prosecutor’s office is investigating.
Berlin – A 39-year-old doctor from Berlin must answer for four cases of suspected manslaughter. According to the police and the public prosecutor’s office, the man worked in a palliative care team at a nursing service. He is accused of killing four patients between the beginning of June and the end of July. He is then said to have tried to cover up his alleged crimes.
Doctor allegedly killed elderly women in their homes and then set fires
According to information from Picture The alleged victims were all elderly. According to the report, the man killed an 87-year-old woman from the Neukölln district of Berlin on June 11. He then set fire to the house – presumably to conceal his crime. The rescue workers initially managed to resuscitate the woman. She later died in hospital.
On July 8, the doctor is said to have killed a 76-year-old woman in her apartment. The fire that was set afterwards went out on its own, according to the tabloid’s report. A week later, he is said to have killed a 94-year-old woman in her Neukölln apartment and set a fire. He also followed the same pattern on July 24 with the alleged fourth victim, a 72-year-old woman from the Berlin district of Plänterwald.
The four women are said to have all been under the care of the nursing service. A possible motive is not yet known. The public prosecutor’s office issued an arrest warrant. According to police information, the man has been in custody since Tuesday (6 August). A cardiologist from Berlin was recently sentenced to prison after the death of two patients. (rku)
