Step.- As Saturday marks the fifth anniversary of the Walmart massacre, documentary filmmaker Charlie Minn believes justice has not been served, despite the promises of politicians. That is why he set out to put together a film that tells a non-official view of the events.
“If people really want to know what happened, come and see the film. Don’t listen to the pseudo city leaders who know nothing about what happened; only the families, victims and survivors know the truth. The families, victims and survivors deserve more,” Minn said in an interview with El Diario de El Paso.
It was a Saturday, August 3, in the midst of the excitement surrounding the return to school in 2019, when an attack was committed at Walmart in Cielo Vista in which 23 people died and another 22 were injured.
Minn, who lived in El Paso for years, made a documentary titled “915: Hunting Hispanics,” based on the tragedy, which will be shown again for a few days locally as part of the commemorations at the Premiere Cinemas in Bassett, starting on August 2 for at least a week.
