Villa Bucci passes into the hands of the Oniverse Group (Veronesi)
The Veronesi family, head of the Oniverse Group, known for its consolidated experience in the fashion sector with Calzedonia and wine with Signorvino, has expanded its portfolio with a new and prestigious investment in the world of wine. The protagonist of this operation is Villa Bucci, a renowned winery based in Ostra Vetere, in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. Founded by Ampelio Bucci, Villa Bucci specializes in the production of Verdicchio and represents an important addition to the Veronesi family’s growing wine collection.
According to Pambianconews, theThe company produces approximately 700-800 quintals of Verdicchio and 300 quintals of red wines annuallyexclusively with grapes from their own vineyards. The Verdicchio del Castelli di Jesi Doc vineyards cover approximately 25 hectares in the classic Doc area, while the six hectares dedicated to the red Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes fall within the Rosso Piceno Doc
Federico Veronesi, son of the founder Sandro Veronesi and current CEO of the Oniverse winemaking hub, enthusiastically comments on the new investment: “Even though we are ‘natives’ to a different sector, we have embraced the desire to promote and invest seriously and significantly in the Italian wine worldwhich certainly needs novelties and a lot of energy.” Veronesi underlines that Villa Bucci, within a project that includes other excellent wine companies, is seen like a “jewel” that will be valued to the maximum.
Following the acquisition, Federico Veronesi will assume the role of CEO of Villa Bucci, while Ampelio Bucci will remain in the company as an external advisor. However, Villa Bucci wines, including the Vintage Collection, will maintain their distinctive characteristics and will be treated with special care.
