With the ever-increasing presence of games “as a service” on the market, it seems that some gamers now have a problem that once didn’t even arise: what to do when you finish doing everything that is available in your favorite game? Once upon a time, the doubt would not even have arisen because it was obvious that each game would come to its end, often in a time not too long.
Today, however, many they expect there to always be a new update around the corner, so you never stop playing the same game. But what if that’s not the case? The creator of Manor Lords gives a very simple, but clearly necessary, piece of advice: “Play other games for a while.”
The discussion surrounding Manor Lords
The discussion started on Twitter where a user complained that he didn’t feel like playing Manor Lords anymore after “only” 34 hours. The creator then responded: “Over 30 hours is a lot, thanks for playing! My advice is to enjoy other games in the meantime (Nordland maybe?) and come back later [su Manor Lords] when there will be new content to experience and new challenges to overcome.”
It’s obviously not the first time that we hear this kind of talk. The creators of Final Fantasy 14 Online encourage their fans to play other games on a regular basis. Palworld’s community manager reminded that not all games are meant to be played every day for long periods of time and that you shouldn’t worry about a game not having “enough” users online, just to have fun.
It seems strange to have to say this: There’s nothing wrong with moving from one game to the next and choose works that don’t last long. Of course, there’s the economic side to consider, but between free to play and low-cost indie (and maybe even on sale from time to time) it’s possible to play continuously, with a lot of variety and without investing excessive amounts.
