The Israeli army said on Friday (2) that it killed in Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, a leader of the Islamic Jihad, Mohammad al Jabari, deputy director of the weapons manufacturing unit, as well as 30 other militiamen.
“Al Jabari was responsible for financing the weapons manufacturing infrastructure for Islamic Jihad in northern Gaza, distributing salaries and funds, and was part of the attempts to restore Islamic Jihad’s rocket manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure,” an Israeli military statement said.
The Army added that the 162nd Division continues its “precise intelligence-based operational activities” in the Rafah area; and in the past few hours they have eliminated around 30 Palestinian terrorists “in hand-to-hand combat and airstrikes.”
According to the Army, before the attack, “numerous measures were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also reported that they are continuing their operational activity in the center of the Gaza Strip, where they identified a terrorist cell that was emerging from a tunnel and eliminated it, in addition to attacking a structure where numerous explosive devices and weapons were found.
The war in Gaza completed 300 days this Thursday (1st), a date marked by the death of the main political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, and the military chief of Hezbollah, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut.
